Zen Cart requires the Easy Populate module to import products entered in CSV format. Doing so saves you the manual tedium of entering each product one at a time through the web interface. The module is free, and provides a product template in CSV format that you can edit in Excel or Open Office Calc, or any other spreadsheet package.
1.Download the Easy Populate module from Zen Cart's module repository. It will be a zip file.
2.Extract the zip file to a folder you'll remember later. This extracts two folders, 'Admin' and 'TempEP.'
3.Log in to your server via FTP, or use your Web host's browser-based file interface.
4.Upload all the files in the module's 'Admin' folder to the Zen Cart 'Admin' directory on your server.
5.Upload all the files in the module's 'TempEP' folder to the base (root) directory of your Zen Cart installation.

Log in to your Zen Cart store management dashboard. Click on 'Tools,' then click on 'Easy Populate.' Click on the configuration link that shows up in the header of the dashboard page.
7.Click on the 'Download Complete .csv File to Edit' link to download a working file to fill with your products.
8.Open the CSV file using your spreadsheet program of choice and insert all of your product information, matching the headers in the template file. Save the file as a CSV file.

9.Click on 'Upload EP File' in the store management dashboard. Navigate to where you saved the file, and then click the link 'Insert Into DB' to import your bulk products.
